33rd Annual MLK Jr. Memorial Banquet


The 33rd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Banquet will take place on January 14, 2018 at the William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Education in Chapel Hill. This year's banquet will honor Chapel Hill Carrboro NAACP's First Vice President, James Williams ESQ., with the Citizenship Award. The Branch invites members to join at us this year's banquet, to celebrate our own! Tickets are $30 and can be purchased from branch Housing Committee co-chair, Delores Bailey. Branch MLK Events on January 15th are as follows:

9am Rally Peace and Justice Plaza Franklin Street Chapel Hill, led by UNC College Branch and Chapel Hill- Carrboro NAACP Youth Council; Featured Speaker: Quinton Harper, Activist and Community Organizer. Followed immediately with March To First Baptist Church.

10:00 am Coffee and Conversation: MLK 50 Years Later

11:00am - 12:30pm Commemorative Church Service led by NAACP Branch Religious Affairs Committee, Featuring NC Senator Valerie Foushee as keynote speaker
