FREE RIDES TO THE POLLS FOR NORTH CAROLINA VOTERS

The Orange County Democratic Party will provide free rides to the polls throughout the early voting period (until Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.) and on Election Day, Nov. 6.

Voters can request a ride to the polls by calling 919-933-9662. The office is open 12-2 p.m. weekdays, but people needing a ride can call anytime and leave their name, address, phone number and when they’d like to go to the polls to vote.

Also, voters can leave ride request information on the Orange Democrats website at www.orangedems.com/contact.

To volunteer to drive people to the polls, contact Orange Democrats the same way—by phone at 919-933-9662 or on the Orange Democrats website.

Popular ride sharing companies Uber and Lyft will provide rides to the polls on Election Day but not, at this point, during North Carolina’s early voting period.

Uber will insert a “Get to the Polls” button inside its app on Election Day that will allow anyone to quickly find their polling place and book a ride to it, and Lyft will use a similar method.
