The Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP Youth Council has had quite a busy summer in the community and beyond! In addition to sending a contingent of delegates to the National NAACP Convention at the end of July, members were involved in several community events back at home.
On August 26, the Youth Council co-hosted the 2nd Annual North Carolina Black Alliance Statewide Health Fair on Saturday, August 26 at Hargraves Community Center. This year's program focused on Advancing Health Equity in our communities. There were over 15 nonprofit and community agencies, including Medicaid, health centers, clinical trials, Orange County departments, and fitness centers.
The Youth Council also took part in supporting fellow young people as they prepared for the school year at a Back to School event at Hargraves. Youth Council members volunteered with set up for the event and hosted a information and membership table.
